Here goes: Squelch, demons, math, crying, rust, pain, sobbing, pretty, colors, purples, darkness, hell, ascension, skronk, bloat, vomit, time travel, stains, freak-out, weeping.
Also, this blog's creation coincides with my very first circuit bent synthesizer creation. I thought it would be fun for us to play some homeade and hacked instruments as well as more traditional ones, so here is a pic of "Breadloser 001":
It's a Kawasaki keyboard I found at Value Village here in Atlanta. Besides painting it, I added three body contacts which make some pretty hideous sounds when fondled. I also put a pitch knob in there to move the frequency range around when the contacts are engaged. Finally, I added a 1/4" output as well as a normally-closed switch so you don't have to reinstall the batteries if the machine freezes up. There are a few quirks, mainly that a 5 second demo song plays whenever you take your fingers off the contacts. I think it's funny though, and can be employed in some interesting ways. Oh yeah, and pretty much everything else on the synth has been rendered useless, except the 8 factory-set keyboard sounds (though it defaults back to "piano" anytime the body contacts are used).
Next post will hopefully cover a new circuit bent creation as well as the first Breadloser practice!
